Immigration reform plans fail in the Senate (Congress)

Most Americans want DACA recipients, the people who arrived in the US as children, to be given the legal and permanent right to stay in the US. Yet the Senate has failed to pass a bill that would ensure their status. While a deal may yet be thrashed out, use this example to show how Congress has become inactive on the big issues facing the country. You can also use it to show how the Senate, with its need for a filibuster-proof majority of 60 votes, is calling the shots over this issue, and others too, such as the Trump tax plan and the recent budget negotiations.
