Bakers win gay cake case

The UK Supreme Court has ruled that a Northern Irish baker could not be compelled to make a cake for a gay wedding with the message “Support gay marriage”. Use this example to evaluate whether the court protects civil liberties and rights. In this case, it appears the collective right of the gay community to be allowed equal access to a service came into conflict with the individual  rights of the baker who could not be compelled, the court ruled, to express something that went against their conscience.
