Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Keeping them hooked

If someone has a gabbling addiction, don’t let them near the casino. By cutting interest rates, the US Federal Reserve is doing exactly that. Americans have spent on houses, spent on doing up their houses, and spent on plasma TVs to put in those houses, all on the false premise that what is bought now can be paid for later. Yet by making money even cheaper to borrow, the alcoholic has been given the keys to the liquor store.

Another problem drinker – the UK – is also showing signs of a dodgy liver, with the Northern Rock Bank feeling the full squeeze of the credit crunch. The Bank of England needs give the country an AA card – higher interest rates to encourage saving – and tell consumers what they do not want to hear… the good times are over.

A tryst with tyranny

Too little, too late
